Solar energy and storage are essential in the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, especially as distributed energy production becomes the “new normal” for industries and corporations reliant on stable power to deliver their products and services. Financial asset owners invest in rooftop solar production and battery energy storage systems (BESS) as an alternative way of deploying capital and making long-term economic returns that benefit property owners, tenants, and the wider energy system.


Skyfri targets all these market segments and aims to become a trusted partner for all asset owners to monitor, control, and drive new revenue opportunities in the energy system of the future.


To accelerate our growth and bring value to our clients, we’re looking for a VP of Customer Success to have a broad range of responsibilities across our client portfolio, with upselling existing clients and developing custom solutions for new clients. As a fast-growing young company, we seek adaptable problem solvers who can take on a large responsibility. Skyfri’s mission is to support industries and commercial asset owners with distributed renewable energy sources by helping them effectively manage their portfolios, maximize asset performance, and unlock new revenue streams. We achieve this through advanced solutions in technical aggregation, energy management optimization, virtual power plants, and ancillary services. Our strategy is to act as the orchestrator of local energy assets, coordinating and controlling large portfolios to help clients access and participate in future energy markets.

Our offerings include a comprehensive suite of services and products:

  • Hardware and Software Solutions: Proprietary SCADA hardware and software solutions to monitor and optimize energy assets behind-the-meter through our Energy Management System.
  • Energy Products: A diverse range of energy services, including negative price control, smart solar invoicing, and solar forecasting.
  • Consulting Services: Expert guidance to meet our clients' needs from start to finish.

Due to strong market demand, we are now seeking a new VP of Customer Success to further develop our clients, understand their needs, and contribute to the continued development of our sales function.

What you’ll be doing

As the VP of Customer Success, you will be responsible for handling inbound leads, and working with our existing clients. You’ll work closely with our product and leadership teams to develop and execute a winning sales strategy, build relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure that we meet and exceed our revenue goals.

In this role, you will

  • Take responsibility for handling incoming leads ensuring a strong focus on delivering results. Being able to understand how we can tailor our products and services to fit the need of the client.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and services to effectively communicate complex solutions to potential clients.
  • Identify up-sell opportunities in current clients.
  • Work closely with the executive team to align the sales strategy with broader business goals, including market expansion and customer acquisition.
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers, providing tailored solutions and negotiating win-win deals.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to refine value propositions and ensure alignment between product offerings and customer needs.



Meet the team

Magnus Mellem, SVP of Global Sales & Strategic Initiatives

Magnus joined Skyfri earlier this year as SVP for Strategic Initiatives and has now taken on greater responsibility for commercial growth globally in our key markets both in Europe and the US.

He holds a Master of Science in Engineering, specializing in Industrial Economics and Technology Management. Magnus brings experience from Capgemini Invent and commercial leadership roles at Kry before joining Skyfri.

What was appealing about Skyfri for you?

The opportunities within the renewable energy and distributed energy resources (DERs) market are immense and rapidly growing. I wanted to be part of the solutions shaping the future of energy markets and driving the transition from fossil fuels to green energy.

Skyfri, as a Norwegian clean-tech startup with global ambitions and an impressive customer base in Europe and the US, felt like the perfect place to contribute. I find it incredibly inspiring to be part of a Norwegian clean-tech venture with global opportunities and a dynamic working environment.

In addition, we need you to:

  • High working capacity and strong ability to understand and articulate complex/technical products in a business context
  • Fluent in English, our working language, and a Scandinavian language.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Economics, Engineering, Economics, or similar field that combines technology and economy
  • 3+ years of experience as management consultant, sales executive, sales engineer, or similar where you needed to hunt and nurture a pipeline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and independent.
  • Experience with energy markets is a strong plus.
