Inspired by Norway’s maritime heritage Ocean Sun has developed a patented solution for a floating power system with solar panels mounted on a thin hydroelastic membrane. Our technology offers renewable energy at world-beating cost levels, thanks to the cooling effect from the water which increases the power output from the solar modules.

Working towards a renewable energy future, we have installed systems worldwide, from the rough coastal waters of Norway the technology has spread to Albania, the Philippines, Singapore, and China. The design can easily be adapted to local conditions, and therefore offers the lowest LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy) of any FPV solution available, no matter if you are deploying it on benign inland waters, hydropower reservoirs, nearshore, or even offshore.

Do you want to drive the global commercial strategy and sales operations at a listed scale-up in renewable energy?

As Chief Commercial Officer at Ocean Sun, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s global commercial strategy, taking further steps to become the leading player within floating solar. The role requires a strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution, as you will proactively lead efforts to identify key markets and leads, define the commercial approach, and convert these opportunities to sales. Your focus extends across Ocean Sun's commercial operations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, collaborating closely with the management team in Oslo and two regional directors in Singapore and Shanghai.

In meetings with partners and clients, you will find that in-depth product knowledge and the ability to discuss technical issues are crucial for building trust and achieving commercial success. Therefore, we believe that the right candidate has solid technical understanding alongside excellent collaboration and communication skills. It is an advantage if you have experience navigating a broad customer and stakeholder landscape, particularly in international and engineering-oriented value chains.


COO Responsibility

  • Overall responsibility for the commercial strategy
  • Further strengthen the sales process and the strategic, structural, and operational approach
  • Leading Ocean Sun’s commercial team
  • Identifying markets, key players, and leads
  • Execute the commercial strategy and convert leads to projects and sales


Who we look for

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in technology, engineering, or business
  • Proven experience in commercial management, sales, and business development
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of Ocean Sun's technology
  • Experience within renewable energy or other engineering-oriented value chains is advantageous
  • Relevant international exposure
  • Experience from or strong desire to scale a promising technology internationally
