HeidelbergCement (HC) is a global market leader in aggregates and among the top global players in cement, concrete, and other related activities, making the company one of the world's largest building materials manufacturers. HC is taking active steps toward a more environmentally friendly footprint for its activities and has recently made several commitments to drastically reduce its CO2 emissions in the nearest future. HC has about 55,000 employees in 60 countries and a turnover in 2021 of more than 18,7 billion €.

HeidelbergCement Northern Europe (HCNE) is a business unit within the HC Group with activities in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Iceland. HCNE is a leading building materials supplier within our region, producing products such as cement, aggregates, ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete products through several brands within the region (e.g. Betongindustri, NorBetong, DK Beton, BM Vallá, HC Betoon, Norcem, Cementa ++). HCNE’s combined turnover was approximately 1.87 billion € in 2021, and our headquarters are located in Oslo and Stockholm.

The core activities of HeidelbergCement include the production and distribution of cement and aggregates, the two essential raw materials for concrete. Our downstream activities include mainly the production of ready-mixed concrete, and asphalt among other building products in some countries. With the acquisition of Italcementi, we have significantly expanded our maritime trading activities.

Cement production is by its very nature raw-material- and energy-intensive. That’s why we build our long-term success on sustainable business practices. This includes securing access to raw materials reserves, efficient and innovative production processes, the development of new products, and the use of alternative raw materials and fuels. HeidelbergCement is also active in the promotion of biodiversity at its extraction sites.
